New generation SAS and SPD processes are derived from unique Fisher Tropsch technologies. Our High temperature SAS (Sasol Advanced Synthol) process converts synthesis gas to yield light olefins. We are a global marketer of 1-hexene, 1-octene and 1-pentene, based on separation technologies which have also generated a cresols and phenols business, as well as the production of alcohols, ketones and mining chemicals.

The SPD (Slurry Phase Distillate) process deploys low temperature conversion to produce paraffins and speciality waxes.

Resource is strategically located in Germany, Italy, South Africa and the USA.

In the nitrogenous arena, Sasol has developed world-leading Expan® LDAN technology for more accurate blasting operations.
