Sasol provides sponsorship to selected sporting, artistic and other organisations and events. These sponsorships help in strengthening the company's
role as a corporate citizen. We pursue sponsorships that enhance our brand, inspire creativity and innovation, and create unique opportunities to build stakeholder relationships.
Sasol currently devotes most of its sponsorship investment in South Africa to sport. Among others, we sponsor South Africa's national teams, including:
The South Africans Women's Football team – "Banyana Banyana"
The South African Paralympics team and
The men's National Wheelchair basketball team.
We also sponsor:
the annual Sasol Rally;
the Sasol New Signatures art competition;
the Black Tie Ensemble and the South African Youth orchestra;
Techno X festival of science, engineering and technology;
as well
as environmental conservation programmes focused on:
Wild dogs, Vultures and Ground Hornbills;
the support of educational programmes including natural
history publications; and
birding related projects .
Through its corporate memberships programme, Sasol supports:
socio-economic initiatives including: Nepad Business Foundation; Business Trust and the Black
Management Forum.
