Reaching the energy frontier

With partners in China, the company has launched a study into the feasibility of building a coal-to-liquids plant with a potential capacity of around 80 000 barrels per day.

End products: Petrol; Diesel; Jet fuel; Fuel oil; Illuminating paraffin; Liquefied petroleum gas; Pipeline gas; Lubricants and greases; Bitumen and naphtha.

South African energy cluster:

• Sasol Oil: Handles crude oil refining activities as well as blending and marketing of liquid fuels and lubricants.
• Sasol Gas: Supplier of pipeline gas to industrial and commercial customers.
• Sasol Mining: Produces about 40 million tons of saleable coal per year.
• Sasol Synfuels: Operates the coal-based synfuels manufacturing facility at Secunda, in South Africa.

International energy cluster:

• Sasol Petroleum International: Develops the group's interest in natural gas and oil exploration and production.
• Sasol Synfuels International: Handles development, implementation and management of international ventures.
