We add value to coal, oil and gas reserves, using these feedstocks to make liquid fuels, fuel components and chemicals through our unique Sasol proprietary technologies. We mine coal in South Africa and produce gas in Mozambique and oil in Gabon. Our chemical manufacturing and marketing operations span the globe.

In South Africa, we refine imported crude oil and retail liquid fuels through our network of retail convenience centres. We also supply fuels to other distributors in the region and gas to industrial customers in South Africa.

A global presence

Through Sasol Synfuels International, we pursue international opportunities to commercialise our gas-to-liquids (GTL) and coal-to-liquids (CTL) technology.

In partnership with Qatar Petroleum, we started our first international GTL venture, Oryx GTL, in Qatar, in 2007 and we are developing a GTL plant in Nigeria with Chevron and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.

We sell products directly to the consumer as well as to commercial and industrial customers. Based in South Africa, Sasol has operations in about 30 countries and employs almost 34 000 people.
