ChemCity is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sasol Chemical Industries. It works as a business incubator supporting Small, Medium & Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) in
the chemical and related sectors.
Through this socio-economic initiative, Sasol makes a further contribution to job creation and broad-based Black Economic Empowerment in South Africa.
Making a meaningful contribution to people's lives
Since June 2004, ChemCity has:
- Helped in establishing more than 85 enterprises/projects
- Helped in creating more than 1470 jobs
- Worked hard to up its enterprise development activities beyond the chemical sector.
By working closely with key stakeholders, ChemCity strives to play a leading role in the development and empowerment of SMMEs in South Africa.

Achieving more through focus groups
ChemCity has six focus groups each led by a business support team manager.
The work of the focus groups includes activities like:
- Idea generation
- Feasibility studies
- Technology development and technical advise
- Marketing and branding.
