Pat Davies was appointed chief executive at Sasol on 1 July 2005.
Davies joined the group in 1975 and has been responsible for various portfolios, including the globalisation of Sasol's GTL technology, and the group's oil and gas businesses, as well as Sasol Synfuels, Sasol Petroleum
International, Sasol Synfuels International and Sasol Technology.
Together with other members of the Sasol Group Executive Committee, he has launched a culture-change initiative that aims to entrench values-driven leadership throughout the group.
Davies was awarded a Bachelor of Science Engineering (Mechanical) by the University of Natal, South Africa, in 1975 and has attended the Management Program at Harvard Business School in the United States in 1986.
He was appointed to the Sasol board in 1997 and is also a director of several other companies in the group.
