Sasol Olefins & Surfactants
Our Sasol Olefins & Surfactants business with its large global footprint operates from its international headquarters in Hamburg.
This manufacturer and marketer of a broad range of organic and inorganic products employs about 3,000 employees and runs 11 production sites in six different countries including Germany, Italy, Slovakia, the US, China and in South Africa. With over 700 products, Sasol O&S serves more than 3,000 customers all over the world.
At our two production sites in Germany, located in Brunsbüttel and Marl, roughly 1,500 employees produce surfactants and surfactant intermediates such as alcohols and ethylene oxide, as well as inorganic specialty chemicals including high-purity aluminas.
Sasol Solvents
Our Sasol Solvents business in Germany is part of the global Sasol Solvents Division headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa. With its five modern
production sites in Germany and South Africa and a global sales force, Sasol Solvents is a reliable producer and supplier of high quality products.
The Division sells more than 2 million tons of solvents and related products in more than 120 countries. In our German production facilities in Moers and Herne,
we manufacture mainly oxygenated solvents such as isopropanol, methyl ethyl ketone and ethanol.
Solvents are used in paints and varnishes, detergents and defrosters, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. Office staff support functions and Sasol Solvents' European sales and marketing activities are based in Hamburg.
Sasol Wax
Sasol Wax employs more than 1, 100 employees, 450 of them work in Hamburg where the headquarters and one of the plants are located. In Hamburg, Sasol Wax
produces waxes, wax blends, petroleum jellies and emulsions based on slack waxes.
Besides the Hamburg plant, Sasol Wax runs production sites in Austria, the UK, South Africa and the USA and has sales operations in Egypt, Malaysia and Australia.
Paraffin wax is the major raw material for the production of candles and a wide variety of other applications such as rubber & tires, chipboard,
food-processing & packaging, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, inks, paints & coatings, textiles and road construction.
Due to the broad range of products, Sasol Wax is able to offer solutions suitable for almost all production processes.
