Through proprietary technologies and processes the main products Sasol produces are fuel components, chemical components and co-products. From these main products and further value-adding processes we deliver diesel, petrol (gasoline), naphtha, kerosene (jet fuel), liquid petroleum gas (LPG), olefins, alcohols, polymers, solvents, surfactants, co-monomers, ammonia, methanol, crude tar acids, sulphur, illuminating paraffin, bitumen and fuel oil. Even further processing produces numerous additional products.

Sasol and Assurecloud highlight food risks and healthier practices on World Food Safety Day
Johannesburg, Gauteng – In recognition of World Food Safety Day (7 June), Sasol Energy partnered with leading food safety solutions provider Assurecloud to raise awareness among South African consumers about the critical importance of safe food handling, storage, and preparation.
World Food Safety Day, observed annually on 7 June under the leadership of the World Health Organization (WHO), aims to spotlight the urgent need for robust food safety systems that reduce illness, prevent foodborne outbreaks, and ultimately save lives. According to WHO, unsafe food contributes to over 200 diseases, including diarrhoea and certain cancers. This year’s global theme, “Sustainable food safety for a healthier tomorrow,” aligns strongly with Sasol’s commitment to hygiene excellence, staff development, and customer wellbeing.
To mark the occasion locally, Sasol Energy hosted an awareness activation at Sasol Baillie Park in North West Province on 6 June 2025, engaging with consumers around best practices in food safety. In addition, a toddler hygiene clinic was held at Potch New Beginnings Day Care Centre, reinforcing Sasol’s broader commitment to child health and wellness through early hygiene education.
“At Sasol, food safety is not just a compliance requirement, it's a commitment to the health of our customers and communities,” said Patricia Mahlangu, Head of Convenience Operations at Sasol Energy.

Sasol’s investment in Early Childhood Development (ECD) and education initiatives in fenceline communities is well-established. Many of these centres also host food gardens, reinforcing the link between nutrition, food security, and sustainable community development.
