Sasol and Sonatrach present the Hybla Project for the production of hydrogen and low carbon syngas

Augusta (Syracuse), Italy - Sasol Italy and Sonatrach Raffineria Italiana have met in recent days, at the Augusta plant of Sasol, the main local institutions local institutions and some local associations to present the "Hybla Project". The ambitious initiative aims to build an innovative plant of significant capacity for the production of hydrogen and 'low carbon' syngas also capable of capturing and reusing CO2 which will contribute to the decarbonisation process of the two sites (with a reduction of emissions of around 120,000 tonnes of CO2 per year).

Holiferm and Sasol Chemicals expand collaboration to develop and market sustainable surfactants

Hamburg, Germany – Holiferm Limited and Sasol Chemicals, a business unit of Sasol Ltd. (JSE: SOL; NYSE: SSL), announced today a collaboration to produce and market rhamnolipids and mannosylerythritol lipids (MELs). This collaboration expands the partnership announced in March 2022 between the two companies to develop and commercialise another biosurfactant product, sophorolipids. 

Air Liquide and Sasol sign first long-term contracts for supply of renewable energy to the Secunda site

Johannesburg, South Africa - Air Liquide and Sasol have signed two Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) with Enel Green Power for the long-term supply of a total capacity of 220 MW of renewable power to Sasol’s Secunda site, in South Africa, where Air Liquide operates the biggest oxygen production site in the world. These PPAs are the first results of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process launched jointly by Air Liquide and Sasol in April, 2021, for the procurement of a total capacity of 900 MW of renewable energy.

Sasol and the ACED-IDEAS-REATILE Consortium sign Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for long-term renewable power to Sasolburg

Johannesburg, South Africa – Sasol South Africa Limited (Sasol) and Msenge Emoyeni Wind Farm (Pty) Ltd (Msenge) have signed a long-term contract for the supply of 69MW of renewable energy to the company’s Sasolburg site.

The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between Sasol and Msenge is the first of several agreements Sasol intends to finalise in the coming months as it secures the renewable energy supply required to produce green hydrogen.
