Through proprietary technologies and processes the main products Sasol produces are fuel components, chemical components and co-products. From these main products and further value-adding processes we deliver diesel, petrol (gasoline), naphtha, kerosene (jet fuel), liquid petroleum gas (LPG), olefins, alcohols, polymers, solvents, surfactants, co-monomers, ammonia, methanol, crude tar acids, sulphur, illuminating paraffin, bitumen and fuel oil. Even further processing produces numerous additional products.

Yet another successful Sasol Birds & Birding Fair
Yet another successful Sasol Birds & Birding Fair
The cold weather was not a deterrent for the over 2873 people, who attended the Sasol Birds & Birding Fair at Joburg Zoo over the weekend. The highly successful event attracted bird lovers, as well as many day visitors to the many exhibition stands and activities on offer.
These visitors included over 760 learners from 11 schools in disadvantaged areas, who attended the Sasol Birds & Birding Fair School Day on Friday 27 May. They enjoyed several birding activities such as a guided bird tour of the zoo 's two bird conservation projects, namely the Wattled Crane Recovery programme and the Southern Ground Hornbill project and while the FreeMe Rehabilitation Centre, taught them all about animal rehabilitation and release. In addition, Johannesburg City Parks gave the young people a glimpse into the wide variety of birds living in their midst – in the city and its parks and bird sanctuaries.
A partnership between Sasol, BirdLife South Africa, Joburg Zoo and Africa - Birds & Birding magazine, the fair presented two days of fun and learning for the entire family. There were loads of free activities, workshops and guided walks on offer and the beer garden and food stalls were popular venues for visitors to grab a bite and listen to live music.
Aimed at encouraging bird enthusiasts to venture out into the world of bird photography, Robbie Aspeling 's photography workshops were packed to capacity. In fact, the course was so popular that it had to be expanded from 60 people on both days to 160 people of Saturday and 135 people on Sunday.
Children had plenty to do with jumping castles, a colouring-in competition and entertainment by the Oros man. As part of their edutainment, they could take part in a migration game to learn about birds ' migratory patterns.
The star of this year 's fair and "Bird of the Year 2011" was definitely the humble Barn Swallow (Hirundo rustica), which is the most widespread species of swallow in the world. In addition to the many activities on offer to visitors, Stephan Terblanche gave helpful tips on how to spot the differences between swallows, swifts and martins. In addition, the Mount Moreland Conservancy was there to demonstrate how it is conserving the millions of Barn Swallows that roost near King Shaka International Airport near Durban in KwaZulu-Natal.
And to top it all, the exhibitors gave away several fantastic prizes in a lucky draw. These included a Beginners Guide to Avian Photography for two people by Robbie Aspeling; a weekend away for a family of four at Mutapa Hotel and Resort in the Waterberg; a pair of Nikon binoculars; 10 discount vouchers for Mutapa Hotel and Resort, five subscriptions to Africa - Birds & Birding, 5 subscriptions to Africa Geographic Magazine, five subscriptions to BirdLife South Africa and one subscription to FreeMe.
