Johannesburg, South Africa – Sasol has launched its Energy Innovation Schools competition aimed at raising awareness on the use of renewable and sustainable energy. The competition is geared at grades 4 to 11 learners from schools in its fence-line communities in Sasolburg, Secunda and Ekandustria. 

Sasol Gas has informed the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) and its customers that the price of piped gas sold to its South African customers will increase to R133,34/GJ. Sasol Gas recognises the impact of the increase in prices on customers, therefore Sasol has not applied the maximum allowable price determined in terms of the 2021 NERSA Maximum Gas price decision.

LAKE CHARLES, Louisiana – Sasol Chemicals, a business unit of Sasol Ltd., will deploy innovative, AI-driven technology at its Ethylene Unit at its Lake Charles Chemical Complex in Louisiana to measure and monitor energy usage and emissions to identify opportunities to reduce CO2 emissions and improve energy efficiency.  

Manufacturing facilities in Germany, Italy earn ISCC-PLUS certification

HAMBURG, Germany, July 27, 2022 – Sasol Chemicals, a business unit of Sasol Ltd. (JSE: SOL; NYSE: SSL), has earned certification from the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) system for its three largest manufacturing facilities in Europe.

Investment in mobility is increasing, not slowing down. Billions of dollars are being spent on researching and developing new technologies, like autonomous driving or the production of carbon neutral fuels for shipping, vehicles and aviation. This increased mobility will result in an increase in carbon emissions if these new technologies are not implemented quickly and if we do not do something fundamentally different.

Johannesburg, South Africa – Sasol Energy and Seattle Coffee Company have entered into an agreement which will see Seattle Coffee Company develop up to 100 outlets at selected Sasol Delight Convenience stores nationally over the next three years.

• A consortium with Uniper, Airbus, Siemens Energy and Sasol ecoFT, together with other partners, aims to supply Hamburg, as an aviation location, with sustainable aviation fuels 
• Integrated hydrogen and eSAF production on an industrial scale
• Annually more than 10,000 tonnes of green kerosene from 2026 onwards

Johannesburg, South Africa - Sasol, in partnership with the South African Football Association (SAFA), and Wheelchair Basketball South Africa (WBSA), launched the “Live the Impossible” initiative to continue to drive interest and ongoing support for women’s football and wheelchair basketball in South Africa. The campaign celebrates the milestones reached to date, including the long-standing partnerships between Sasol and these two sporting bodies. 

German aircraft manufacturer Deutsche Aircraft and South African chemicals and energy company Sasol have signed a MoU on advancing technology for green hydrogen-based PtL-SAF in aviation. Sasol ecoFT and Deutsche Aircraft have both recognised the urgency in transitioning towards climate neutral aviation. The two companies thus plan to foster the certification of sustainable drop-in and non-drop-in jet fuels, more particularly the ramp-up of PtL-SAF for aviation.
